Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
The All Hazards Regional Multi-Agency Operations and Response (ARMOR) section is the CBRNE investigative Unit for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). It is a task force consisting of members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (8), North Las Vegas Police Department (1), Henderson Police Department (1), and Nevada Division of Investigations (1). This eleven person unit was established in 2005 and was designed in response to the newly faced CBRNE threats that emerged during the post 9/11 era. ARMOR Detectives handle the down-range operations, evidence collection, scene documentation and investigation of all criminal CBRNE incidents in Southern Nevada. ARMOR works as the investigative entity of the Las Vegas Fire Department Bomb Squad (the only FBI certified bomb squad in Southern Nevada) and the Las Vegas Fire Rescue (LVFR) Haz-Mat and CBRNE units. ARMOR personnel and LVFR CBRNE crews routinely conduct joint down-range entries. This is a necessary practice due to the limits of manpower as well as the extreme temperatures experienced in Southern Nevada. All ARMOR Detectives are Haz-Mat Technician, Confined Space, and High Angle Rescue certified. ARMOR is additionally tasked with conducting all robotic operations for the many Southern Nevada SWAT Teams.
